2011 has been a great challenge for me personally and professionally

Rocking & thrilling …
Met new people…learned so many things about human nature….

I got confirmed in my job have been assigned to a new unit where had and still have so many challenges

Sadness ….
Learn so many bad news about my dear ones…especially when you witness the downfall of people you thought you knew…

I will always remember the day how I decided to start blogging…on an impulse…
not knowing what kind of blog I will have…what it will be the title or subtitle…

all decided on an itch…just for knowing how it feels to have a blog…and be a blogger…
today am quite proud of my small world I have crafted there…
my blog has become my alter world …like Gaia has become my alter ego…

people have always reproached me of being too introvert…making me feel
dull somehow doubting myself…
but blogging has helped me so much…a place where I have found a sort of an

life is a strange journey...
full of self discovery...an ongoing learning process...

I would take the example of my grandparents cos its inspire this vision of life
..
how the eyes reflect the vision of life and how the heart or mind interpret life is such a beautiful story...

when I was in my teens, whenever I would meet my grandparents they would talk about the past
or the morals or values they used to have...
I would then think that they didn't understand the new generation ...

today these conversations have taken a golden dimension...
with a new eye vision and mindset, I now perceive this life cycle...

when I was a teen, my main aim was to finish school then work then study...
most people aim is to find a good job with a good salary package...

but for my grandparents, they have reached such a stage when all those materials life aims are minimalist...

for them, their day-to-day is
life itself...
they now talk about the remaining life that they have to live... they talk so freely about their death...

whenever I would hear them talk about their past, I now cherish these golden experiences...
why those golden moments would soon be rare......where I have learn the essence of life from them...

there was no vicious cycle of money...
no corporate world...no rush hour to work...or race against time...

You do not have to feel obliged even you do not want to wake up early and rush to work...

You do not have to compete with computer to save time & be cold & emotionless & be mechanical

You do not have to hear or face the abuse of your boss...

or even feel bad if you feel ill or is not introvert enough to match their needs.…

instead there would be flora & fauna mushrooming everywhere...

you live following your own rhythm... there is no rules & regulations...there is no KPI and performance

management....

You feel really free in your moves... you can jump in the air laugh & smile on the street....

and

feel good for what you are...

you can take the time to watch the blue sky...feel the heat of the sun on your skin...feel the breeze brushing you & breathe life....

and finally feel happy & at peace....

if ever you had read about my post where i wanted to quit my job...
well you will never know what has happened since then...

surprise surprise...
the HR asked me if I wanted interested in joining another dept...
and of course I said YES....
but things aren’t that easy...
here comes the unwanted barriers on my path...

My actual head isn’t that willing to release me...
and that just enrage me that he can stoop so low...
the dept am joining will not be easy but somehow am very happy and relieved that i have found the escape door from this hellish department...

what I learn from this :

never to take a decision in haste....
time itself will provide you with the solution...
and always to have faith

I always think that life should have come with a manual or with a search engine ...

these days am in an impasse... taking a decision is never easy...

I don’t want to take a hasty decision … like I did in the past & live in regret

I’m right now stuck in the middle of my life journey… not knowing which way to choose...

cant deny am afraid...apprehensive...

life is never easy...

the choice that I will take will reflect on my future... am still thinking on the pros & cons...trying to make out where I shall be in the future...

my big dilemma is whether to quit my job or not...

the job I had started to hate so much...which has become my own purgatory...

I hate the hypocrisy ....
the egoisms...
the unfairness...
the exploitation...
the coldness
& the inhumanity...

I no more want to
be tormented in my sleep with work...
where at every turn there is only reproaches..
where opening your mail inbox you are afraid there is going to be some very bad news...

today I no more have the strength to face all of these...
all my patience has faded away...

and I don't know what to do

but the dilemma is whether one might be ready to go beyond the normal norms and societal values...

where truth & genuineness are hard to digest

where gentleness & helpfulness are taken for granted

where the "Seven Capital sins" (Wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony) are the norms

So, after 10 days my main findings reside in 3 words that have become my mantra...

Love a unique feeling…pleasant and unpleasant…

An endless sentiment that people struggle to find during life…

Build from the passion flames…driven by craze and desire…love has made man battle, kill and even die for…a wordless sentiment that we long to understand and express….

Valentine day is not seen by everyone as a day to tribute to love & lovers….

Some saw it as another commercial incentive to make business…
Some as stupid and meaningless
Some as romantic…

Neither of them are wrong as both have solid truth in them…

But for me…Valentine day is the day where the World stops for a while and think about love…

The day where we can feel that love is in the air…

where we can feel that Cupidon is aiming its love arch to the world….

Going beyond the red façade of the commercial decoration screaming the passionate and flamboyant red valentine decoration…there is passion…romance…love in the heart of people…

It’s the day where the shy lovers will find the upmost courage to offer the sacred red rose to his/her chosen ones…

The day where the busiest people/couple find time in their schedule some time for romance…

A day for the lovers…to re-affirm their passion and love…

It’s true many do not wait for valentine day to offer presents, cards or be romantic…
So what’s special…

Maybe it’s the contagious love atmosphere emanating from the air…the warm embrace or delight of people expressing their feeling at the same time…

Or being remembered and devoted during this occasion…

And it’s the day for those people who are in relation after so many years where the wild romance has started to fade away…but valentine day ignites it where both partner has found time to go and look for a gift or write some special words ….

So goes for the true spirit of Valentine day…

Hello World…

Since last week, the weather has been cloudy and rainy accompanied with occasional thunder & lightening day and night long…

Gone was the sun, its bright colors…leaving in place…a grayish…colorless, misty and sad picture…

Don’t know why…but since have read and watched the Twilight saga… this kind of weather reminds of Bella & forks…

Rainy weather has a special atmosphere…dark… lurking ...menacing with its bed of heavy clouds hanging over the sky…screaming to explode at any time…

Upon the appearance of the heavy clouds barricading the sky…time seems to fly at a slower pace…

Somehow the rainy weather does have a mystical touch…with the melodious song of the rain cascading from the sky….

A time where we find our home so cozy…moment where we can linger to watch nature painting a watery picture …and cleaning earth & its surrondings….

Moment where we just feel like going under the rain and feel the rainfall pouring over us….

As unexpectedly does the rain starts…as silently does it bids its farewell…

These days I am so tired and restless…till a state it’s so hard to find a good night of sleep and rest…

How I long for peaceful reveries…

Somehow I found a point of anchorage in this bizarre routine of my life…between two dossiers at the office…
My office is located relatively near the harbor and my floor has a beautiful view of the harbor and the splendid sight of the ocean from the horizon…

So whenever I had to move along my department, my gaze will automatically linger to have a glimpse of the ocean and the harbor…

watching those ships anchoring or paving their way through the wide ocean…is like a animated painting with new portrays of ships being crafted with ever changing tones of the sea…illustrating the daily mood of the ocean…

I won’t ever forget the beautiful scene that the rain presented once …how the rain was falling with the dark grey menacing the sky and the ocean turning to a grey tone…with a lonely ship frozen in this picture….
I then wonder how it would be if I was on board on those lonely crafts …

This post is dedicated to two special people in my life ……

Last Tuesday was my graduation day....Since I was informed about this event I was more skeptic than being happy....skeptic in the sense that being absent from my work is like having a bomb ready to explode with full of bad surprises...

But on the eve of the graduation day....when travelling back home a feeling of happiness & enthusiasm started to bloom inside me....

Joy as I was gonna make my parents proud...

Excitement as I was going to meet (after so many months) my two friends: Ariele & Caroline...

Meeting Ari & Caro was as if we never separated....always their aura of joy & good moods floating around them...so contagious...seeing them is always the moment of exchanging our usual little gossips of ours....sharing time & moments of the good and bad moments of life....

My graduation was not only about reward...but about lot of love (amour)...

love for the parents...to see their pride and joy...

love for friends...mine especially as till now never understand how two great persons have accepted someone like me ….

my two friends who had supported me for my four years at Uni..and still here for me ....

been so long that had a really good day...

I won’t ever forget you girls and always be grateful to you...and the moments we share especially under our special tree near the cafeteria it has witnessed our start of friendship and its growth...and all our little confidence...

My first blogging anniversary...who would have believe it....

Last year at this very moment I was over-stressed, lost and worried with my dissertation...and then I got the idea of starting a blog...

At first it was for purely academic purpose as my research was on blogging itself...then I was entwined in the blogging mania....

Everything started unsuspecting...I didn’t even think about my blog identity ...I came up with Hello World which is the main heart of the blog and the main opening of my post...World referring to Gaia (Earth)...

At first I used to blog about everything....

It was then that I crafted and molded a place for my thoughts...a world where I can be myself and share the visions of how I see life ....

Things which I saw that sometimes are so difficult to say or explain in reality....today I have also found a shelter in my blog where I find a voice which echo part of myself through my writings....

This week got a nice surprise when returning back from work....I received a letter from uni about the graduation day...

Finally the graduation date has been communicated… it’s in one week time…

I‘m so happy and for once I feel kinda proud of myself...am receiving the reward of my 4 years of studies ......1 mins of glory on stage LOL

These past few days am feeling so happy….maybe it will be for a short duration but still am enjoying this feeling of blissfulness and gaiety…

It all started on Thursday when I was coming back from work and walking home….it was already dark, the sun nearly setting down…and I looked up at the sky…
I was mesmerized…how to describe this beauty of the nightfall sky…the sky was cloudless…not a single cloud at the horizon…the first stars starting to shining…and this amazing blue patterns …aqua from blue marine to a pale blue pastel….with the last rays of the sun adding a beautiful pale yellow tone…

It was then I realized that summer was already here…

The atmosphere is always more warm glowing on the mood of people…making them feel warmer and happier…the surroundings looking more striking, colorful and bright…

How not to fall in love with the vibrancy of summer and nature…

During these days, the weather in Mauritius was morose, cloudy with few sun rays succeeding to pave their way out of the mass to pour out some light across the grey sky…the ocean far away in the horizon…still in its pittoresque state was magnificent in its blue grey color with few tanker ships on the way to the harbor completing the picture…

Traveling back home in the afternoon is always the only rare moment when I can dream and relax…crowd of passengers/strangers crossing your path but bearing the same perplexed look of the tired person…many of them ignoring the art of beauty picture that nature is offering us…

I then think that life is so strange …. So many lives crossing yours and traveling away in a jolt of moment of the highway of life not knowing what’s waiting ahead…

Listening to my favorite tracks and gazing at the windows… I always welcome the enchanting image of the sun waving me goodbye while it’s fading away in the vast blue grey ocean… I then wonder how it would have been if I was near the grey ocean in this morose atmosphere ….

I imagine myself watching the cold ocean with its unstoppable ballet of waves….with echo of the wind playing around ….
The cold sensation of the wind gust brushing you and transcending your body reaching your soul… this chilly feeling of being cleansed out of all dirt and negativity…
Lying freely and carelessly across the grass…

I would stare at the grey sky with the few sunrays bringing out some warmth to the morose atmosphere….

My colleague told me on Thursday that she is going to celebrate Eid at her friend place...she is going to have lunch there…
I was quite amazed as she was a Hindu...
and more amazed when she told me that she had done that more than ten years ....
and I realised something....
here in Mauritius, we are firstly a multicultural island where we grow learning to live with so many ethnical and cultural differences...

Today i was watching a documentary on TV on St Batherlemy or St. Barts (island found near the Caribbean....)

entitled La Belle et L'Avion (the beauty and the airplane)....

From the start to the end of the documentary, I just wish I was somewhere else…someone else… living something else

Life appears so idyllic and livable...

Despite living on an island (rather a concrete island I would say)I found myself yearning everyday of a new life......

a place where nature (fauna and flore) is still being respected and honored and graced...

not a place where every inch of soil is being toiled with concrete and overpowered with greed for money and outrun with consumerism ....

a place where one doesn't have to be ashamed of the color of one’s skin, ethnical background or social background

a place where we don't have to fear of walking in the street or stepping out without any attack, theft, violence or abuse...

a place where your silence is not your weakness...

a place where I can find happiness...

Full of interpretation and inspiration, the first sight of the first sun rays signify so many things...

Ever been bewitched by something and you completely forgot about the rest…it’s what happened to me…

Today I went for a long drive on the western coast of the island…It’s been one month since I last went to the beach…

Unfortunately the sun and the blue sky were not on the weather programme…

Still the mood was set for a day at the beach…

Having dreamed of the ocean since quite of a long time, it’s always wonderful to watch the peeping blue gray horizon of the ocean still in the landscape…with some boats as background set for a sea adventure…

While the rare sun rays trying to peek from the cloudy sky, the changing colors of the mountains and trees were another beautiful picture of nature…

With rain and sun playing hide and seek every ten minutes, the weather was tampered with a cool musical sea breeze… playing through the branches of the ‘filaos’ …while the sea was chanting with its crashing waves against the shore…

How could one not resist the alluring call of the ocean…

Did you ever feel suffocated…
Everyday I’m striving out to breathe in and out….

Living out the same routine…waking up….eating…working….sleeping….

Am so tired mentally and physically (but am relieved that have got a job at last) that I dream almost every night of my work….the pending work awaiting for me….

Loner at heart….I know that am isolating from my dear ones…if you’re reading this post am sorry…I know am someone that can be so complicated….as my dearest friend Jade would say…am someone so unsociable….

Though I wake up every morning wishing when this day would end….I can’t wait to gaze at the rising sun every morning when am travelling by bus to work…

to watch the early sun rays lightening the sky and the landscape ….to feel the sun rays warming your skin….

The same mysterious sun rising down in the afternoon….the last rays lightening the dark blue color of the ocean….before darkness engulfed the night….

Finally I have found and built my blog identity…

Now I have built a place where to shelter to picture my feelings and life…

As you can notice, I have been doing some modifications to the blog template to suit the new direction it will be taking….

I change the sunrise theme for a beach or sea view as it reflects better my visions, my escapades, my dreams which always focus and center on sea someway….and I always dream flying to a reclusive beach…

My blog will also be about my dearest friends whom I always like to write on even some posts may repeat but how could I not write about them…talking about them I would like to thank them : Jade, Ari and Caro (esp you Caro and Evan who really saved my day when we needed to submit the dissertation) for your constant support, encouragement…know am a big ball of stress and negativity don’t know how I would have managed last year without all your positive thinking and attitude…

Am so happy that we all have passed and will be graduating this year…

Obsession

Finally my wish or obsession has turned true… I have finally made my comeback in the business world…
Yeah am finally back….
But like most ordinary human beings, am not totally happy…wonder why…

Am back at the harsh and cold reality of the business world which I craved to be….with my delusions shattering more…

Back to the past routines which I longed to faced again: waking up early…the rush hours of the breakfast time and dressing time….the morning sprint to the bus stop…to be finally in the end of the long queue waiting desperately for the rare Express buses to surface….to then wish to have a seating place (the past courtesy has longed died in Mauritius)….to be then stuck in the daily morning traffic jam…sprint to the office….wishing the clock will tick more quickly so the day will end soon…the afternoon congestion…

This is my daily routine for the past 3 weeks…am not complaining but wish I was more thrilled…

Tired of these delusions: the hope of getting a good job or brighter future….my thoughts and imagination are escaping or should I say drifting to another exquisite obsession of mine: cliffs

Yeah I love cliffs and am just totally fascinated by cliffs…
For me, they represent the most peaceful and energy refilling place…where you can sit there for hours and watch the rough sea and waves clashing and some vessels at some far most distance enveloped with their own special atmosphere: windy…cold…and so alone…

And because they are so like me: quite boring and unappealing places…just like the dull, introvert, loner person that I am finding it so difficult to connect to people….
Am picturing me living in Cornwall in a small house abandoned near a light house….

or in the highlands in Scotland or near its cliffs with its own mystical atmosphere

or lost in the exotic mystery and beauty of the New Caledonia Island…

I have always wanted to live near cliffs….trekking or sitting there observing the games of the angry waves against the defying rocks….

so that's my daily obsession…

I end today on a cheerful note ….on car commercial ads that I really love watching on TV…

Climbing Le Pouce Mountain….

If you love nature…
If you don’t have money and want to do an outing…
And if you are lazy (like me) and really need some exercises….
Then hiking should definitely be on your agenda…

The good ideas/must:

Going out with your group of friends/colleagues:
A good day will be waiting for you with the fooling around and joking times as you make your way at the top of the mountain….most of us were playing on the word ‘le Pouce’ (thumb in English) saying that we should have gone for the .middle finger….in case you are worried to be alone there well no worries at all…we met many people over there…some were climbing up or down encouraging us to continue…

Panoramic view:

Your reward for all your efforts will be the 360 degree panoramic view of the Plaines Wilhems and Port Louis district… it was just so beautiful…watching Port Louis view will be like gazing into a still oil picture of the harbor with its large vessels in the background with the varying blue tones of the sea….

There was also the flashback moment of the Mauritius in its colonial period trying to picture how people must have stood there to watch the vessels coming….

Nature:
An amazing green trip to discover the beauty of nature…very green around…definitely a return to nature with very muddy and rocky trail…will be a very good team building programme as you will be needing help of your friends at some point in time to steady yourself so as not to fall down or slip away….
For the fruits fans: Goyave de chine will be mushrooming around and you will have a large selection to choose from….
The windy weather and mountain breeze will be the cooling effect to vent out the tiredness …bringing you some freshness….

The small disadvantages:
Situated in the rainy region of the Moka district, you should watch out the weather forecast before going there…do not make it on a rainy weather as it will be very dangerous….unfortunately for us, it had been raining a bit on the previous night but the weather was ok the following day….we were thereby gifted with a muddy and slippy path (fortunately thank to mother nature, there are branches to grip yourself)
Climbing up is the easiest as the climbing down is really difficult as you really need to be careful and attentive….would have slipped several times and had fallen only once…so trust me nature isn’t that friendly…
No sign to indicate you the right direction….there is only one at the foot of the mountain…the rest you will have to manage ….

Very narrow path…really need to be focused with stones and roots mingle in the middle of the trail…and do watch out that you are following the right pathway else a wrong decision may lead to a fall in the precipice…

Tips:

Wear very good trainers, a t-shirt, a hat, trousers (to avoid being uncomfortable with mud splashing on you) and do bring lots of water…. And for those who are frail as me…do bring a jacket along…
The climbing time is around 2 -3 hours….

We then went to Flic en Flac (the nearest beach)….after having refresh ourselves at one of our friend’s place who happens to live nearby Le Pouce mountain….we were pampered with juices and cookies at her place….thanks Nausheen for providing the antiseptic cream you saved my day….
The next programme was then animated by my friend Ari…wonderful event hostess who is really gifted to animate those series of mimics and riddle games…and the wonderful gift exchange part where all of us had to mimic the person whom we got (the actress or comedian career is definitely not made for me)
There was the shooting time on the beach

So that was my wonderful outing with my classmates….will be seeing le Pouce Mountain differently now…

Being in the world cup mood, I end today on 3 videos which I really love watching…

These days, my two big crazes are the Roland Garros French Open and the perfumes TV spots in between the matches…am just flying over a cloud of fragrance …

After the terrible suspense and climax tension hanging over the pending match, it is a relief to watch those perfumes TV spots which do bring some fascinating fragrance like the WOW factor (excl the super models)– the idea behind the whole concept of the idea…how come someone reach such storyboard, concept and creativity….

These days, am just dreaming and day-dreaming about being lost on an isolated island…cut from the 24 hr / 7 days negative breaking news, from society, from everyone….

I dream of finding the peace in myself … no more minding with the tickling clock of time and life…lazing under a balancing hammock…face to the winds…under the playful shadows of some trees….the waves crashing and mumbling against the shore….

Or floating on the constant swinging moves of the ocean…face to the blue sky…free and liberate…letting the flow to carry you…

The irresistible call of evasion… like the mesmerizing song of the sirens tempting and tormenting Ulysses and his crew…

Hello World!

When Uni days are over, we are left with some many memories….

Last Friday at this very moment I would have been stressed as it was my last paper (finally)….

To immortalize this moment, I have taken a snap of my classmates (yeah we manage to smile even it was 8minutes before we were having exams)

After that, no lecture, presentation or exams….thought it was gonna be great (been waiting for this day since I enrolled) but now am missing so much of this side of Uni life….

My friend sent me a sms this morning and got the idea of writing this post cos we both are feeling the same thing …. We are missing ourselves, our laughter, nos petites mimique, the small girly gossips and secrets, nos dialogues bien de chez nous that only us could understand…around the famous tree near the Cafeteria….

Think the best time when we had the film assignment… we had to write the story boards, the dialogue, do the shooting, do the editing….but it was our small moment of fame and glory…beaucoup d’emotion forte, beaucoup de fous rires avec les best of et la phrase mythique :et les dossiers?

I know we can meet, there is facebook, sms, email, phone but it won’t be the same…..

Hello World !
This Thursday will be my last day at uni (also my last test)…Finally I can say it aloud or scream it: Have done it!!! Have been able to complete the course….
Most of my friends are relatively relieved as they won’t be any assignment, lectures, exams or presentation pending on them…
But am sad…
Am gonna miss those lectures which I always want them to end the moment they start or the hectic way we usually do our presentation but it will be mostly my classmates who am gonna miss the most…

Know it’s not the end but the beginning at that education does not end at a degree but will I have again such class or classmates?
Now am looking (or should I say hunting) for a job… after having been jobless for almost a year, can say it is so difficult to find yourself a job these days…so frustrating and stressful…

So am in the melancholy mood reminding myself all the times not to think about the past and move forward…but kinda hard…
Did you even ask yourself if you had made the right choice? But then realize it’s kinda too late…but you still keep pondering what gonna be the outcome of this life….

This is what am up to those days….it is so easy to dwell in your sleep and dream rather than wake up and face life and its reality…dreams are so comforting and better (.Note to myself: to stay away from those happy-ending books or movies….)…

I think it is easier to believe in lies and illusion which are more subtle and seductive than the truth…
So am stuck in this impasse….

That remind me of my ex work colleagues… there was a trainee from Amsterdam which was in internship for 4 months and guess what he wanted to learn first … our Creole swear words …when I heard him one day swearing well I just could not kept laughing ….

For many days, we kept joking about that, we even printed it and one of them said it was his bible and that we should email it to clients LOL

Just to sum up....to swear is human and think that whenever we are the biggest CEO am sure everyone does swear daily....

I find it intriguing that swearing words are forming part of our daily conversation... from the pop songs to cartoons we are surrounded with swears words....

So what the big deal if we swear...

Am not implying that we need to have a swear generation but its a kinda inevitable that even we don’t teach our kids to swear, the environment itself is not swear proof...

So keep swearing but moderately

Tomorrow will be Easter...

Who doesn’t love this festival....it’s the day or month of chocolate....

The yummy chocolate eggs and the cutie Easter bunnies are on sale everywhere.....

But the Easter festival also connotes a spiritual and religious side...

According to the Christian texts, Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. On this day Jesus Christ rose from the dead and mounted to heaven

Christians celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday) where they offer prayers and services in the Churches.

It’s too bad in Mauritius, we don’t have the Easter egg hunt like they do abroad…I think it would have been marvelous if we had such activity during Easter here

I always wonder why the media always portrait Africa in a negative way….
The typical stereotype image most people have of Africa is always a child with flies around his/her face

If not, we will be thinking of Africa as a land of war,

dispute,

political instability,

famine

or aids

I then wonder:

If the beautiful picture that Camara Laye portrait for La Guinea in his book L’Enfant Noir did exist…

are the African values, cultural richness

, tradition

and Conakry as wonderful as he describes

If the African flora

and fauna

really striking as they are pictured in the Kirikou cartoon?

When will I see such coverage on Africa making the headline on the CNN, France 24 or BCC World and on our local media?

Africa is indeed a beautiful country far from the gloomy and dark image shown by the media

Harassment over the telephone

Hello World!

Did you ever encounter a crazy person over the telephone?

Well it happened to me recently…

It was a night around 23.00… I was working on the PC when my mobile phone started ringing…

When checking the caller ID saw it was an unknown number… I took the call as have a friend who is always phoning from different numbers…

It was a girl…

She said hello and then told me to stop harassing Ash as whenever she calls him, his line is busy and that a girl Sanjana keeps on calling him day and night…

I told her that she has dialed the wrong number and that wasnt Sanjana…

But she was adamant cos it was the number his fiancé gave her…

I told her again that didn’t know any Ash and hang up…

After a few minutes, I received a sms from her… she asked me if I met her fiancé on a chartroom and that she is fed up with him and her life… 0_o

I replied her sms so that she leaves me in peace and repeat again that I don’t know about her fiancé etc ( I even told her that I have a BF)…

But she just believe blindly her fiancé …she couldn’t seem to think that maybe am right and her fiancé just give her a number so that he is relieved of her …

But she won’t understand and keeps asking where I got his number…how I know him….I just feel like @#%$&!!!!

Imagine my state of mind it was nearly midnight ….I wonder if she’s behaving like this with me…what kind of hell her fiancé must be living…

It was quite clear to me that her fiancé was cheating on her…I felt somehow sorry for her but I wanted her to stop harassing me…

I told her that have to wake up early as I have to go to work tomorrow…she told me that she would telephone me tomorrow…

The next day at 07.00am she telephoned me… I didn’t take her call…gosh it was unbelievable to disturb people early like this esp when you are not even closed to them…

She then sent me a sms:

Gudmrng dr. y u was not received my cal.zat mean u r guilty. U knw ash my fiancer wel. N u had cal him every2. Nw am fed up of my life. Have only 1way 4me2suicide zat al. cos u did nt tel me d truth. Ash n u ll responsible 4zat. B4 die I must rite a letter. Put ur number n my fiancer num. n d cos also ok dr only 12 hrs give u 2 reveal d thruth ok.

Have quoted her sms with the spelling mistakes not to mock her but to show what kind of person she is…

I just lost my patience when reading her message…was not only being threatened but was also being given an ultimatum…

I replied her and told her that was going to report her to the police before her suicide and that there was an act in the Mauritian law about damaging people’s image and to tell this to her Ash…

She then told me that she was going to check her fiancé mobile to see if I had really called him…

In the meanwhile was not reassured about her suicidal threat knowing she was somehow a bit crazy… so I contacted my BF and asked him to phone that girl but his credit was over…

So I turned to my sis bf… don’t know what he tell her but the girl hasn’t sms or phone me again…and she even switched off her mobile…

Morale of the story:

Don’t know any Ash (why should I steep so low to harass another guy when already have a BF)
My name is not even Sanjana
Unbelievable that anyone can harass you on the mobile and point out such accusation on you when you are innocent
Really afraid now to answer unknown number
Should I change my number in case she starts again?

In two weeks time will be submitting the dissertation...really don’t know if should be happy or apprehensive about that....

Today was wondering about the Samsung Planet Proof mobile phone

and imagine then how it would be if there was an object proof for anything we dislike especially when you feel really stupid and whatever you have been doing or doing is just worthless...

For e.g.

Emotion proof against feeling down, insecure or born stupid
Work proof against the nasty boss or colleagues
University proof against feeling really really stupid, out of place or de-motivation
Life proof (think we would need the mask and armor of cynicism to face this world)

It would have been indeed great if we could happen to choose which emotion situation we would have like to be immune or even escape....

The Art of Village Life

Today I went to my uncle place... he happens to live on one of the villages found on the western coast...
Don’t know about but think in Mauritius, we no more have the once folkloric pittoresque villages...the villages are long gone and small miniature towns are making with their entry ….

But today was the perfect time to relax a bit and to break away from home and dissert...the sun was not that harsh (kinda gloomy weather) accompanied with sea breeze and the best part: peace and no continuous cars horning but just nature and a relative calmness....
I always love travelling on the western coast...not only for the beautiful villas or bungalows at Tamarin or Riviere Noire but love watching the mountains, sugarcane fields and the panoramic view that the sea offers (perfect still picture or image with boats far away in the background)...you just wish at such time that you were in those boats sailing away...

And on such trip, my dad and uncle and cousins would be narrating their stories when they were young and how naughty and mischievous they were and how life was in Mauritius at such time...
Well really love those flashback moments....you learn so many things about our folklore culture, lifestyle and stories...
There would be also some anecdotes ...for e.g. about the family bring and share and which my cousin refers as eat and run whenever he would be going to his in-laws he would be going empty hand and then eat very rapidly and also dash rapidly... or eat and sleep ....really got a mega LOL when he told us that....
Things I love in the Western villages:

A complete different mood and atmosphere from Quatre Bornes...
Just love the peaceful silence and nature (even the sun and heat kinda terrible without forgetting our friend mosquito)
Just love the coastal area esp the sea (haven’t forget about the tsunami threat)
You can some cycling without looking bizarre
Your relatives you once saw in a while are always welcoming...always giving you gifts asking you to come again and over again...warm and nice hospitality
People greet each other more warmly and everyone know each other

So that was my day in a village on the Western coast.....

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.

Last Friday, Amarte asi, Frijolito ended (well like always on a happy ending)....finally Ignacio was able to marry Margarita...but kinda felt sorry for Francisco, he was the only one alone without a partner in the last shoot....

So since yesterday, Más Sabe el Diablo has made its entry....

In Más Sabe el Diablo, we will be having as leading actress Gabriela Espino (she plays the role of Luna in the telenovela LUNA LA HEREDERA.)

and as leading actor Jencarlos Cadena .....

Más Sabe el Diablo theme revolves around crime and street gangs where the leading actor is himself a thief...well this telenovela appears quite promising....

Plot:

The story starts on Esperanza Salvador, working as the maid in the Acero household in Mexico where she turns to be pregnant for the son of the household. The Acero family and especially Graciela, Martín's mother, disapprove and takes Esperanza to an abortion clinic. Esperanza escapes the abortion clinic with the help of the driver and goes to a Graciela's friend's home.
Determined to fight for Martín's love, Esperanza steals money, her passport, and visa and escapes to New York City to search for Martín Acero. But Esperanza's life turns upside down when a group of men steal her purse with her money, passport, and visa.

Left with nothing, Esperanza gave birth to a baby son Ángel and raise him in New York.
Years later, the streets become a second home for Ángel, where everyone knows him as the Devil (El Diablo) for his traffic as a thief which in the end he pays for with a jail sentence. He then meets Manuela Dávila, an attractive lawyer, who represents him in his case. She pleads with the judge to let him go free and give him a new opportunity to start a new life.

But everything changes when he returns to the Cave (La Cueva), a bar where Ángel lives where he discovers that his mother is indebted to León, the leader of the gang he has always worked for. León had paid for Ángel's mother’s medical expenses while he was in jail, and the only way to repay the debt is for Ángel to be involved in a robbery at a charity event.

Ángel and the rest of the gang have to steal jewellery from the show room. Unable to refuse León's requirements, Ángel's only option is to organize the robbery. However, fate plays a trick of love when that night changes his life forever.

all those names resonate the sound of freedom and merry-life.....free from all societal conventions, norms....

Whenever I used to think about Gypsies, my reflection was limited to the character of Esmeralda in The Hunchback of the Notre Dame’ movie.... I always wanted to dance like her....

But behind the facade of those road nomads lay a world of culture and history
Don’t know about you but this world does fascinate me....
Gypsies ancestors are said to be originated from the north of India where a group of people left the country between AD 800 and 950 before spreading themselves across countries like Egypt and Europe...

Always roaming on the road, the lifestyle of the Gypsies was not to the like of everyone...usually unwelcomed where they set their wagons; they were badly perceived and were given a negative reputation and image...

The Gypsies usually make up their life by doing small jobs or hawking but they were famous for their singing and dancing talent...

Imagine yourself around a bonfire while a group of gypsies would be singing and playing their musical instrument while the women would be dancing....I would have loved to experience this one day...

We cannot talk about the Gypsies without mentioning their belief in being able to foreseen the future...

Today, my reflections were about things that sometimes I feel so hard to say face-to-face

Like I never quite understand why people pay tribute to people only when they are dead not when they were alive so that at least they could know that they do matter to people...

So to my friends:

I know you will recognise yourself (am so happy that you do read my Blog LOL)...thanks for accepting me as your friend and being there for me....I may never have told you but I won’t ever forget our bus trip from Port Louis to UOM when we have to rush to lecture even we were always so late...the little chitchat that we have on the bus, in the garden at La Rue St Georges, at uni and on email (really love this one)....or the day we prefer to skip our lecture on Press during the colonial period to go to KFC...

Legends behind Thunder and Lighting

These past few days, rain, thunder & lighting had been bookmarking themselves on a frequent basis on the Mauritius Climate agenda...
So I wondered what was the mystery behind the thunder & lighting?... after crawling the web to unlock the mystery behind, I came up with these explanations....

The very serious explanation (the rationale one):

It’s all a matter of atmospheric change and conditions and had found that there are many disciplines devoted to Lighting research:
• Atmospheric Physics and Electrostatics
• Electrical Engineering
• Climatology, including thunderstorm morphology & dynamics
• Meteorology
But man has also tried to explain certain natural events by creating myths....
According to Wikipedia:’ Polytheistic peoples of many cultures have postulated a thunder god, the personification or source of the forces of thunder and lightning. Frequently, the thunder god is known as the chief or king of the gods, for example Indra in Hinduism, Zeus in Greek mythology and Perun in ancient Slavic religion or otherwise a close relation, for example Thor, son of Odin, in Norse mythology.’
Here are some legends have found:

The mythical explanation (the fantastical one):

A jump in Greece (Greek Myth)
The Greek God of Thunder is in the personification of Zeus portrayed with his weapon the Thunderbolt.

The legend behind Zeus’s Thunderbolt started with the birth of the 3 Cyclopes (kyklopes): Brontes (thunder), Steropes (lighting) and Arges (flash), gigantic one eyed monters, sons of Gaia (earth) and Ouranos (the sky).

Upon their birth, Ouranos locked up the 3 Cyclopes where was confined their stormy brothers (the Hekatonkheires). Gaia outraged and angry, devised a plan to free all her sons. The Epic then narrates that Ouranos was defeated by the Titans but they too locked again the Cyclopes this time in the Hades (hell). Zeus and his brothers then came to the rescue of the Cyclopes and released them.
As a reward, the Cyclopes gave Zeus the weapon of thunder and lightning in the form of the thunderbolts.
The ancient Greek believed that the thunder noise was the sound made of the Cyclopes forging with their hammer the thunderbolts of Zeus and the lighting was the anger of Zeus over the mortals. So, whenever lighting stroke at a place, a temple was build so at to appease the anger of the Gods.

Direction to Sweden (Viking Legend):

The Norse God of Thunder is in the personification of Thor, son of Odin and Jord, the earth goddess. Thor was usually portrayed as a big and powerful man with a red beard, flowing hair and lighting eyes with his weapon, a hammer the Mjollnir.

The legend narrates that during a thunderstorm, Thor would be seen riding on his Chariot across the sky(explaining the noise of thunder) and would be smashing along his Mjollnir which would be flashing lighting. .

Final stop to China (Chinese legend):

The Chinese believed that the sky was ruled by Lei Tsu (the Ancestor of Thunder), Lei Kung (the God of Thunder), Tien Mu (the Mother of Lightning), Feng Po (the God of Wind) and Y Shih (the Master of Rain).
The legend tells that the Spirit of Thunder, an ugly black bat demon with clawed feet, monkey head and eagle beck, hold in one hand a steel chisel and in the other one, a hammer with which he would be beating numerous drums around him producing the terrible noise of thunder.
Lighting is said to be produced by Tien Mu, female divinity holding a mirror (which each one represents the yin and the yang) in each hand which produces two flashes of lighting when rubbing both mirrors.
Whatever the explanation provided for thunder and lightning, thunder and lightning just scary and terrible...

Hello world!

Yesterday Uni resumed...and it was just fabulous....

The lecture was supposed to start at 13.00 so no need to tell you about the rush and speedy things did to be on time

At 11.45 I left home and got a bus as soon step on the bus stop (at that time thank my luck) and few minutes later receive a sms from a classmate informing me that the lecture had been re-scheduled at 16.00 (no need to tell you how I felt at that very moment) so I got down on the next bus stop and walked back home under that harsh sun (the heat just terrible and unbearable these days)

At 14.30, re-hurry back to the bus stop under that terrible sun....

and finally met my uni pals after so much time...seeing each other were really good...

So many girly gossips to tell and to relate...

After the office gossip.... we came to talk about the diabolic invention: the dissertation (1 month left before the Jour J)

But it was just mega great to see everyone and this semester module seems cool too (on planning: politics agenda, media, ideology etc)

Am still not realising that it’s eventually my last semester at uni...my final 4^th year at uni...but gonna enjoy the max the few months left...

So from now, gonna look forward to each Tuesday

The Legend behind the Cavadee

Today in most countries, people are celebrating the Thaipoosam Cavadee or Kavadi. Many people must be wondering why people carry Cavadee...

Here are some answers to this question:

The legend of the Cavadee:

According the legend on Lord Murugan (Muruga, Subramanya), there was once a Sage which created two hills to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. When Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvatee finally appeared on the two hills, the Sage decided to go back to his home. He summoned his disciple to carry the two hills. Upon the request of his mentor, the disciple tied the two hills and carried it like a Cavadee.

In the meantime, another event was happening....

The Mango of the discord:

Naradha offered a rare and precious mango fruit to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathee.

The two parents wanted to offer the fruit to their two children Lord Muruga and Lord Ganesha but they did not know to whom to give

So a contest was set and whoever went around the universe and return first to Lord Shiva will be awarded the fruit.

Without wasting time, Lord Muruga jumped on his peacock and went at full speed around the Universe. On the other hand, his brother Ganesha also known as the Lord of Wisdom, sat knowing he will not be able to outstand his brother and decide to find an alternate way to win.

Ganesha then went round his two parents and told them “You are the Universe and the entire Universe is in you”. By going round you, I have gone round the Universe and have won the fruit. Delighted by the philosophy of their son, Lord Shiva offered Ganesha the fruit.

When he returned, Lord Muruga became angry when he saw that his brother had won and in his anger, he renounced all the materialistic possessions he had and left with only a loin cloth for a retreat.

On his search, he found the two hills and went to settle in one of them.

The fight:

After his rest, the disciple went to lift his Cavadee and found he could not lift it. He found there was someone in the hills and attacked the intruder without realizing it was Lord Muruga. During the fight, the disciple was killed and was later restored back to life by the Lord Muruga himself.

The disciple then prayed to Lord Muruga to be allowed to stand at the entrance of all his shrines and that any devotee carrying a Cavadee to Lord Muruga’s shrine in fulfilment of a vow, should be granted his/her wish.

Other legends:

It is narrated that centuries ago, Lord Muruga was given the mission to re-establish peace on earth by delivering it of the evil grip of Soorabathman. It was on the Thaipoosam that Lord Muruga was bestowed the Vel by his mother, Goddess Parvathee to destroy Soorabathman. The Thaipoosam also symbolises the birthday of Lord Muruga.

To all the devotees of Lord Muruga who are going to carry the Cavadee, I wish you all good luck in your endeavour.

Plot:

Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) was taught by her mum that whenever a guy behaved like a total jerk with a girl it means that he likes her (0_o) has a date with Conor (Kevin Connolly) who happen to already have a girlfriend Anna (Scarlett Johansson).

After the date, Conor told Gigi he will call her back later. Believing blindly in his word, Gigi now spends all her time near the telephone waiting for his call asking herself if she has to make the next move. On the other hand, Anna met Ben (Bradley Cooper) and the two are automatically attracted to each other and can’t fight this intense attraction.

The big dilemma is that Ben is married to Janine (Jennifer Connelly).

My Views:

After watching this movie, ask myself if I should continue seeking advices about the next move after a date LOL....

I enjoy watching this movie cos found in all characters a part of myself for e.g., Gigi who is waiting for the call who among us has never wait for the guy or girl to call us back or Mary trying to find love or a companion on the virtual world....
